What to consider when selecting a massage device
Weight, noise, attachments, battery and cleaning matter more than the number of speed settings on the box.
Weight and handling
A device you hold at arm's length feels heavier than the specification suggests. Check the published weight and grip design, especially if you will use it without help.
Noise level
Manufacturers sometimes publish a decibel figure. Where they do not, treat the omission as unknown rather than assuming it is quiet.
Attachments and settings
More settings are not inherently better. Consider whether the range is usable and whether attachments are replaceable.
Battery, charging and travel
Look for stated battery life at a defined setting, charging method, and whether the device is accepted for air travel.
Cleaning, warranty and safety
Check cleaning instructions, materials, warranty length and any manufacturer cautions. Devices marketed for wellbeing are not treatments; ask a qualified professional about pain, injury or a diagnosed condition.
